Clockworks

This was my entry in a Canon digital photography contest organized by the ECES (electronics and communications engineering society) in my university last Nov. 8, 2006.

The theme was revealed to us on the same day and our deadline was at 5pm. At first I wasn't sure of what to take for the theme "Synergy." I thought that I'd take a macro photo of a watch whose back was transparent but then I was sad to discover that my dad didn't have one.

So after looking around my house the idea struck me. I remembered that we had a clock with a glass housing whose gears represented synergy for me. So I took the clock, removed the glass cone and took pictures of it with natural lighting. I took a lot of shots but had to narrow it down to only a few which I showed my friends to decide which to submit (I'll upload other versions of this clock next time).

Today the winners were announced and I'm really happy to know that my photo took the 1st place :D

P.S. Wow, I think this is my longest post yet. But anyway, to those who are wondering why part of the EXIF data is missing:

I used my dad's old Leica 60mm f/2.8 Macro-Elmarit-R manual lens with a Leica - EOS lens adapter he bought me on one of his trips to Hong Kong.
